- 1 head cabbage Choose a firm, green head for the best results.
- 2 tablespoons melted butter or olive oil Both options work beautifully.
- 1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning Adds a unique flavor.
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder For each cabbage steak piece.
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder Adds robust flavor.
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika Introduces subtle smokiness.
- 2 tablespoons shredded parmesan Very finely for umami flavor.
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley For garnish.
Start by removing any damaged outer leaves from the cabbage. Rinse it under cold water and pat it dry. Slice it into thick steaks, about 1-inch thick.
In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter (or olive oil), Old Bay seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Coat each cabbage steak with this mixture.
Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Place the seasoned cabbage steaks in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
Air fry the cabbage steaks for about 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through until golden brown and tender.
In the last two minutes of cooking, sprinkle the finely shredded parmesan on top of the steaks.
Remove from the air fryer and sprinkle with dried parsley. Serve immediately.
- Experiment with different seasonings to suit your taste.
