Ingredients
  

  • 14 oz extra-firm tofu the main ingredient, providing protein and texture
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch crucial for achieving that crispy coating
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt enhances flavor
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper adds a hint of spice
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder provides savory depth
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder complements the garlic

Instructions
 

  • Press the Tofu: Wrap the tofu block in paper towels and place a heavy object on top to press out excess moisture for 15-20 minutes.
  • Cut the Tofu: Cut the pressed tofu into 1-inch cubes for even cooking.
  • Prepare the Coating: In a mixing bowl, combine cornstarch, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well.
  • Coat the Tofu: Add cubed tofu to the bowl and gently toss until evenly coated.
  • Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  • Arrange the Tofu: Place the coated tofu cubes in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  • Air Fry the Tofu: Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
  • Serve and Enjoy: Remove the tofu once golden brown and crispy. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Press the tofu well to avoid sogginess.
  • Cook in batches if necessary to prevent overcrowding.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
