  • 4 to 8 pieces bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs

  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce more as needed

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). This high temperature will help achieve that crispy skin we all love.
  • Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels. This is important for achieving a crispy skin. Once dried, place the thighs in a large bowl.
  • Drizzle the olive oil over the chicken thighs and season generously with salt and pepper. Toss to coat evenly.
  • If using foil, line a baking sheet with it for easy cleanup. Place the chicken thighs skin-side up on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they are spaced apart for even cooking.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes. The chicken should be golden brown and crispy.
  • Using a silicone basting brush, generously coat the chicken with BBQ sauce during the last 10 minutes of cooking. This will caramelize the sauce and add an extra layer of flavor.
  • Use an instant-read thermometer to check the internal temperature of the chicken. It should read 165°F (75°C) when fully cooked.
  • Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Serve with additional BBQ sauce on the side and enjoy the succulent flavors of your Baked BBQ Chicken Thighs!
