Equipment

  • Waffle Iron
  • Large Mixing Bowl
  • Whisk
  • Mixing Bowl

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup turkey bacon cooked and crumbled, optional
  • toppings whipped cream, fresh fruits, maple syrup

Instructions

  • Start by preheating your waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions to ensure crispy and golden waffles.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the eggs lightly. Add the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently just until combined; the batter should be slightly lumpy.
  • If desired, fold in the cooked and crumbled turkey bacon for a savory twist.
  • Lightly grease the waffle iron if needed. Pour about 1/2 cup of batter onto the iron, close the lid, and cook for 4-5 minutes until golden and crisp.
  • Remove the waffles carefully and serve immediately with your favorite toppings like whipped cream, fresh fruits, and maple syrup.

Notes

  • Let the batter rest for 5-10 minutes before cooking to achieve fluffier waffles.
  • Store cooked waffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
  • Reheat frozen waffles in a toaster for a crispy texture like freshly made.
