- 16 ounces steak
- 2 teaspoons salt (or to taste)
- 1 teaspoon pepper (or to taste)
- 6 ounces blue cheese (crumbled)
- Fresh parsley or chives for garnish
Start by seasoning the 16 ounces of steak with 2 teaspoons of salt and 1 teaspoon of pepper. Let the steak sit at room temperature for about 15-20 minutes.
Heat your grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Let it rest for at least 5 minutes.
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the French baguette into ½-inch thick slices and toast them in the oven for about 5-7 minutes.
Slice the rested steak thinly against the grain. On each toasted baguette slice, place a piece of steak and top it with crumbled blue cheese.
Garnish with fresh parsley or chives, arrange on a serving platter, and serve immediately.
- Cooked steak can be kept in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
- Assemble crostini right before serving to prevent the bread from becoming soggy.
- If you have leftover assembled crostini, store them in the refrigerator to maintain freshness.
