- 1 loaf brioche bread thickly sliced
- 5 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Butter for cooking
Begin by cracking the 5 large eggs into a large mixing bowl. Add 1 cup of heavy whipping cream, 2 teaspoons of cinnamon, 1 tablespoon of brown sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Whisk everything together until well combined and smooth.
Take your thickly sliced brioche bread and dunk each slice into the custard mixture. Allow it to soak for about 30 seconds on each side.
Place your griddle or non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a generous amount of butter. Let it melt and start bubbling.
Once the butter is hot, carefully place the soaked brioche slices onto the griddle. Cook each side for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown.
Once cooked, transfer the French toast to serving plates. Top with your favorite accompaniments.
- For a vegan option, use flax eggs and coconut milk instead of eggs and heavy cream.
- This dish is best enjoyed fresh, but leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- To reheat, place slices in a toaster or on a skillet until heated through.
