- 2 shots espresso freshly brewed
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup milk or dairy alternative almond milk, oat milk, or preferred plant-based milk
- ice cubes for shaking and serving
- whipped cream optional, for topping
Directions
Start by brewing 2 shots of espresso using your preferred method. Freshly brewed espresso is key. Set aside to cool slightly.
In your cocktail shaker or jar, add 2 tablespoons brown sugar and 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon. Mix to distribute cinnamon evenly.
Pour warm espresso over the sugar and cinnamon mixture, then add a generous handful of ice cubes.
Seal the shaker or jar tightly and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds to dissolve sugar and create froth.
Fill serving glass with ice cubes. Pour 1 cup milk or dairy alternative over ice. Strain shaken espresso mixture into glass.
Optionally, top with whipped cream and a pinch of cinnamon for extra indulgence.
- Use freshly brewed warm espresso to help dissolve the brown sugar quickly and create froth.
- Shake vigorously but avoid adding too much ice to prevent diluting the flavor.
- Store shaken espresso mixture (without milk or ice) in fridge up to 24 hours; add ice and milk just before serving.
- Try adding nutmeg or pumpkin pie spice for a festive twist.
