- 2 cups butter (4 sticks)
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup slivered almonds
- 3/4 cup butterscotch chips
- 3/4 cup milk chocolate chips
- 1 1/2 tsp shortening (divided)
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, making sure it’s flat and smooth.
In a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.

Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, aiming for 285°F.
Stir in the vanilla extract as the mixture nears the desired temperature.
Quickly remove from heat and stir in the slivered almonds.
Pour the hot mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and spread it evenly.
Sprinkle the butterscotch and milk chocolate chips over the top and allow to melt.
Melt the shortening and drizzle it over the chocolate layer for a sheen.
Allow to cool completely, then break into pieces and enjoy!
