- 1 tbsp olive oil for searing
- 1 lb sea scallops fresh and plump
- ¾ tsp salt to enhance flavor
- ½ tsp black pepper for subtle heat
- 3 tbsp Land O Lakes Butter with Olive Oil & Sea Salt for richness
- 2 tsp garlic minced
- 1 medium lemon juice half for sauce, slice the rest for garnish
- 1 tbsp parsley chopped for garnish
Start by patting the scallops dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.
In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat until hot but not smoking.
Carefully place the scallops in the skillet, searing for about 2-3 minutes on one side until golden. Flip gently and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
Lower heat to medium, add butter and minced garlic to the skillet. Stir gently to coat the scallops.
Squeeze the juice of half a lemon over the scallops and stir quickly.
Remove scallops, garnish with parsley and lemon slices, and serve immediately.
- Ensure scallops are dry before cooking for a perfect sear.
- Do not overcrowd the skillet; cook in batches if necessary.
- Use freshly minced garlic for maximum flavor.
- Adjust garlic and lemon juice amounts to suit your taste.
