Equipment

  • Food Processor or Cheese Grater
  • Baking Sheet or Grill
  • Parchment Paper
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Spatula

Ingredients

  • 1 cup finely chopped cauliflower (chop in food processor or grate with a cheese grater)
  • 1/2 cup finely grated mozzarella cheese
  • 5 tablespoons almond flour
  • 3 tablespoons finely grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Pinch salt
  • 1 egg (beaten)

Instructions

  • Step 1: Preheat Your Oven or Grill - If you're using the oven, preheat it to 425°F (220°C). If you're grilling, prepare your grill for medium heat.
  • Step 2: Prepare the Cauliflower - Chop or grate your cauliflower until it’s finely minced. You should have about 1 cup of chopped cauliflower.
  • Step 3: Steam the Cauliflower - Place the chopped cauliflower in a microwave-safe bowl and cover it. Microwave on high for about 4 minutes until tender. Let it cool slightly, then transfer to a clean kitchen towel.
  • Step 4: Squeeze Out Excess Moisture - Wrap the steamed cauliflower in the kitchen towel and twist it tightly to squeeze out as much moisture as possible. This step is crucial for achieving a crispy crust.
  • Step 5: Combine Ingredients - In a mixing bowl, combine the drained cauliflower, mozzarella cheese, almond flour, Parmesan cheese, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and beaten egg. Stir until well combined.
  • Step 6: Shape the Crust - Spread the mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet or grill-safe surface. Shape it into a circle about 1/4 inch thick.
  • Step 7: Bake or Grill - If using the oven, bake for 15-20 minutes or until the crust is golden brown. If grilling, place the crust on the grill and close the lid, cooking for about 10-15 minutes or until firm and slightly charred.
  • Step 8: Add Toppings - Once the crust is cooked, remove it from the oven or grill and add your favorite toppings. Return to the oven or grill for an additional 5-10 minutes to melt the cheese and heat the toppings.
  • Step 9: Slice and Serve - After the cheese is melted and bubbly, take it out and let it cool for a few minutes. Slice your pizza and enjoy your delicious cauliflower crust pizza!

Notes

  • For a vegan option, use dairy-free cheese and a flax egg instead of a regular egg.
  • Ensure to squeeze out all moisture from the cauliflower for a crispy crust.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
