For the Chex Mix:
- 6 cups vanilla Chex cereal
- 1 cup plain Cheerios
- 1.5 cups pretzels
- 0.5 cup sliced almonds
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons corn syrup
- 0.25 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 0.5 teaspoon almond extract
- 0.67 cup dried tart cherries
- 2 oz white chocolate melted
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C).
Step 2: Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 3: In a large mixing bowl, combine the Chex cereal, Cheerios, pretzels, sliced almonds, and dried cherries. Toss gently.
Step 4: In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat and mix in corn syrup, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and almond extract.
Step 5: Pour the melted butter mixture over the dry ingredients and fold until evenly coated.
Step 6: Spread the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
Step 7: Allow the mix to cool completely on the baking sheet.
Step 8: Melt the white chocolate and drizzle it over the cooled Chex mix, allowing it to set before serving.
