  • 2 green onions sliced
  • 0.25 teaspoon garlic powder (or 1 clove minced garlic)

In a medium pot, combine the rinsed rice with 2 1/2 cups of water and a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 45 minutes or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed.
  • Step 2: Fluff the Rice - Once cooked, remove the pot from heat and let it sit, covered, for an additional 10 minutes. After resting, use a fork to fluff the rice gently.
  • Step 3: Add the Flavor - In a small bowl, combine the fresh lime juice, lemon juice, lime zest, and garlic powder (or minced garlic). Pour this mixture over the fluffed rice.
  • Step 4: Mix in Fresh Ingredients - Add the finely chopped cilantro and sliced green onions to the rice. Stir gently to combine all the ingredients, ensuring the flavors are evenly distributed.
  • Step 5: Adjust Seasoning - Taste the rice and add more salt if necessary. If you want to amp up the flavor, feel free to add a pinch more lime juice.
