Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Boneless, skinless chicken breasts Medium-sized
  • 1 cup Sliced mushrooms Preferably cremini or button mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 small Onion Finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 1 tablespoon All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Chicken broth
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon Dried thyme
  • Salt To taste
  • Pepper To taste
  • Chopped fresh parsley For garnish

Instructions

  • Step 1: Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  • Step 2: In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Once hot, add chicken breasts and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove chicken and set aside.
  • Step 3: In the same skillet, add chopped onion and sauté for 2-3 minutes until fragrant. Add sliced mushrooms and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  • Step 4: Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute. Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir well, cooking for about a minute.
  • Step 5: Gradually add chicken broth while stirring to avoid lumps. Then add heavy cream, thyme, and adjust salt and pepper. Simmer for about 5 minutes.
  • Step 6: Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning sauce over the top. Simmer for an additional 5-10 minutes.
  • Step 7: Garnish with chopped parsley before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

For a deeper flavor, marinate the chicken in olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and herbs for at least 30 minutes before cooking. Use fresh mushrooms for the best texture and flavor.
