  • 4 medium bananas, mashed Use ripe bananas for best flavor.
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup light brown sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 3 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups milk, at room temperature
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • teaspoon ground cloves
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions
 

  • Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, mash the bananas until smooth.
  • Step 3: In another bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Step 4: Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Step 5: Gently fold the mashed bananas into the butter and sugar mixture.
  • Step 6: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
  • Step 7: Gradually add the dry mixture to the banana mixture, alternating with the milk.
  • Step 8: Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  • Step 9: Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store leftover cake in an airtight container to keep it moist for several days.
