Ingredients
  

  • 1/3 cup butter adds a rich, creamy taste
  • 1/2 medium yellow onion finely diced
  • 1 1/2 cups long grain white rice the star of the dish
  • 3 cups chicken stock or vegetable broth good quality
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
  • 2-3 bay leaves adds an aromatic touch

Instructions
 

  • Gather all your ingredients. Finely dice the onion and measure out your rice, butter, and stock.
  • In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the finely diced onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until soft and translucent.
  • Stir in the long grain white rice and cook for about 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently until slightly toasted.
  • Pour in the chicken stock or vegetable broth, add bay leaves, and season with salt and pepper. Stir well to combine.
  • Increase heat to high and bring to a boil. Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover, and let simmer for about 18-20 minutes.
  • After cooking, let it sit covered for 5 minutes. Remove bay leaves, fluff the rice with a fork, and serve.

Notes

  • Rinse the rice to remove excess starch for fluffier results.
  • Use a 1:2 rice to liquid ratio for perfect texture.
  • Let the rice rest covered after cooking to enhance fluffiness.
