  • 2 cups cooked chickpeas Can use canned or dried chickpeas.
  • ¼ cup tahini
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice Freshly squeezed is preferred.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin

Instructions
 

  • Step 1: Prepare the Chickpeas. If using dried chickpeas, soak them overnight and cook until tender. If using canned, drain and rinse thoroughly.
  • Step 2: Blend the Ingredients. In a blender, combine chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and cumin. Blend until smooth, adding water if necessary.
  • Step 3: Taste and Adjust. Taste the mixture and adjust seasoning as needed, blending again to incorporate.
  • Step 4: Serve and Garnish. Transfer to a bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with whole chickpeas and paprika if desired.
  • Step 5: Enjoy! Serve warm or at room temperature with pita bread or fresh veggies.

Notes

For a creamier texture, peel the chickpeas before blending. Use fresh lemon juice for a brighter taste.
