Equipment

  • Baking Dish
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Whisk or fork
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Meat Thermometer

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs salmon filet Look for fresh, high-quality salmon for the best results.
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter Softened for easy mixing.
  • 4 cloves garlic Minced to infuse flavor.
  • 1 tsp salt To enhance the natural flavors.
  • 1/2 tsp pepper For a touch of heat.
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley Chopped for garnish.
  • 1 whole lemon Zested and cut into wedges for serving.

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). This ensures the salmon cooks evenly and develops a lovely buttery crust.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Use a whisk or fork to mix until all the ingredients are well incorporated.
  • Place the salmon filet in a baking dish, skin-side down. Pour the garlic butter mixture evenly over the top of the salmon, using a spatula to spread it out if needed.
  • Transfer the baking dish to the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork. The internal temperature should reach 145°F (63°C).
  • Once cooked, remove the salmon from the oven and sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley. Serve with lemon wedges on the side for an extra zing.

Notes

  • For a dairy-free option, substitute butter with ghee or a plant-based butter.
  • Fresh garlic delivers the best flavor, but garlic powder can be used in a pinch.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
