- 2 tablespoons olive oil for sautéing the shrimp
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter adds richness
- 1 pound large or jumbo shrimp shelled and deveined
- 1 teaspoon Salt to taste
- 6 cloves garlic minced
- Red pepper flakes to taste
- 3 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice for brightness
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley chopped
In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat for about a minute.
Add 1 pound of shelled shrimp and season with 1 teaspoon of salt. Cook for 2-3 minutes until pink, then flip and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes. Remove and set aside.
In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium, add 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter, and once melted, add 6 minced garlic cloves and 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes. Sauté for 30 seconds.
Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet, add 3 tablespoons of lemon juice, and toss until well coated. Cook for an additional minute.
Remove from heat, sprinkle with 1/4 cup of chopped parsley, and serve immediately.
- Don't overcook the shrimp; they should be just pink and opaque.
- Use fresh garlic for the best flavor; pre-minced garlic can be bitter.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
