Equipment

  • Large Skillet or Wok
  • Spatula or wooden spoon
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Cutting board and knife
  • Serving dish

Ingredients

  • 8 cloves Garlic peeled and minced
  • 3 tablespoons Vegetable oil
  • 4 cups Cooked rice cold
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt or more to taste
  • ½ teaspoon Pepper or more to taste
  • 2 tablespoons Green onions sliced, for garnish

Instructions

  • In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until hot enough to sizzle when you add the garlic.
  • Add the minced garlic to the hot oil. Stir it frequently and cook until golden brown and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the cold, cooked rice to the skillet. Break up any clumps with your spatula.
  • Sprinkle in the onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well, allowing the rice to absorb the flavors.
  • Once heated through, transfer to a serving dish and garnish with sliced green onions. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Cold rice works best for frying; freshly cooked rice can become mushy.
  • Adjust the garlic to your liking—feel free to add more!
  • This dish pairs well with fried eggs, grilled meats, or hearty soups.
