- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking powder, garlic powder, and salt until evenly combined.
Pour in milk and melted unsalted butter. Stir gently with a spoon or spatula until a soft, slightly sticky dough forms.
Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface. Divide into 8 equal portions and roll each into a 6-inch long breadstick shape. Place on prepared baking sheet.
In a small bowl, mix grated Parmesan cheese and minced fresh parsley. Brush each breadstick with olive oil, then sprinkle with the Parmesan-parsley mixture.
Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown and cooked through, watching closely near the end to prevent burning.
Remove from oven and immediately brush with additional melted butter for a rich, glossy finish. Serve warm.
- If dough is too sticky, add flour 1 tablespoon at a time until manageable; if too dry, add milk 1 teaspoon at a time.
- Try swapping parsley for rosemary or thyme for different flavors.
- For extra garlic flavor, mix minced garlic into melted butter before brushing on breadsticks.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
- Reheat in a 350°F oven for 5-7 minutes; avoid microwaving to keep texture soft.
