Ingredients
  

Hummus Base

  • 1 can Chickpeas 15 oz, drained and rinsed
  • 1 tablespoon Tahini
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cumin

Meat Topping

  • 1 medium Onion finely chopped
  • 250 grams Ground Beef or Lamb diced or ground
  • 1 tablespoon Mixed Spice

Garnish

  • 30 grams Pine Nuts toasted
  • 30 grams Pomegranate Seeds

Instructions
 

  • Step 1: In a food processor, combine the rinsed chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and ground cumin. Process until smooth and creamy. Adjust consistency with water if needed.
  • Step 2: In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the chopped onion in olive oil until translucent. Add the ground meat and cook until browned, seasoning with mixed spice.
  • Step 3: Spoon the cooked meat mixture over the hummus base in a serving dish.
  • Step 4: Garnish with toasted pine nuts and pomegranate seeds. Drizzle with olive oil if desired.
  • Step 5: Serve with warm pita bread or fresh vegetables for dipping.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, skip the meat and top with sautéed mushrooms or roasted vegetables.
