Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Whisk or spoon
  • 8x8-inch Baking Dish
  • Parchment Paper
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Ingredients

For the Blondies:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 stick butter, melted
  • 1 cup packed dark brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/3 cup M&M's

Instructions

Instructions:

  • Step 1: Preheat the Oven - Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). This ensures your blondies will bake evenly.
  • Step 2: Prepare the Baking Dish - Grease an 8x8-inch baking dish with cooking spray or line it with parchment paper for easy removal later.
  • Step 3: Mix Dry Ingredients - In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set this mixture aside.
  • Step 4: Combine Wet Ingredients - In a separate large bowl, mix the melted butter and brown sugar until well combined. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth and creamy.
  • Step 5: Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients - Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can affect the texture of your blondies.
  • Step 6: Fold in Chocolate Chips and M&M's - Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and M&M's, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  • Step 7: Bake - Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Step 8: Cool and Cut - Once baked, remove the blondies from the oven and let them cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, cut into squares and enjoy!

Notes

  • Keep an eye on baking time to prevent dryness.
  • Let cool completely before cutting for the best texture.
  • Try adding nuts for a crunchy twist!
