- 1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 1/2 cups uncooked regular oats
- 1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 4 ounces milk chocolate candy bar coarsely chopped (or about 1/2 cup of chocolate chunks)
- 1 cup chopped pecans
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then add the vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet ingredients.
Gently fold in the oats, chocolate chips, chopped milk chocolate, and chopped pecans.
Drop rounded portions of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden.
Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Chill the dough for 30 minutes for deeper flavor.
- Experiment with different nuts or chocolates.
