Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Spatula
  • 9x9-inch baking pan
  • Parchment Paper

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups quick oats
  • 1/2 cup crispy rice cereal
  • 3/4 cup chopped pretzels
  • 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Start by lining a 9x9 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal later.
  • In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the unsalted butter, brown sugar, honey, creamy peanut butter, and vanilla extract. Stir occasionally until the mixture is smooth and well combined, about 3-5 minutes.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the quick oats, crispy rice cereal, chopped pretzels, and mini chocolate chips. Mix them together until they are evenly distributed.
  • Pour the melted mixture over the dry ingredients and stir until everything is well coated.
  • Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking pan. Use a spatula to press it down firmly into an even layer.
  • Place the pan in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or until the bars are set and firm to the touch.
  • Once set, lift the granola slab out of the pan using the parchment overhang. Place it on a cutting board and cut it into bars or squares as desired.

Notes

  • Ensure to pack the mixture tightly in the pan for firm bars.
  • Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor.
  • Chill the bars thoroughly to help them hold their shape.
