- 2 eggs eggs at room temperature
- 1 cup milk at room temperature
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1.5 tablespoons basil and walnut pesto
- 3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) to ensure it’s hot and ready for the popovers.
Use a light coating of cooking spray or butter to grease the popover pan.
In a mixing bowl, combine the eggs and milk, whisking them together until well blended. Gradually add the flour, whisking until the batter is smooth.
Fold in the basil and walnut pesto along with the grated Parmesan cheese until evenly distributed.
Pour the batter into the prepared popover pan, filling each cup about halfway.
Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the popovers are puffed and golden brown.
Remove the popovers from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before gently removing them from the pan.
- Make sure your eggs and milk are at room temperature for optimal mixing and rising.
- Avoid overmixing the batter to keep popovers light and airy.
- Do not open the oven door while baking to ensure proper rising.
