- 2 slices bread choose your favorite variety, sourdough or whole wheat work wonderfully
- 1 tablespoon pesto sauce fresh or store-bought basil pesto
- 2 slices turkey bacon cooked until crispy
- 2 slices cheese mozzarella or cheddar
- 1 tablespoon butter for toasting the bread
Prepare the Turkey Bacon
Begin by cooking the turkey bacon slices in a skillet over medium heat until they are crispy, about 4-5 minutes, flipping halfway through. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess grease.
Layer the Cheese and Bacon
Place one slice of cheese over the pesto on one slice of bread. Add the crispy turkey bacon slices on top of the cheese, then top with the remaining slice of cheese. Close the sandwich with the second slice of bread, pesto side down.
Butter and Toast
