  • 1 medium Yellow Onion sliced into half moons
  • ¼ cup Water or Stock
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced or crushed
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Ground Black Pepper

Instructions
 

  • Step 1: Prepare Your Ingredients - Peel and slice the potatoes into ⅛ inch thick rounds and slice the onion into half-moon shapes.
  • Step 2: Cook the Onions - Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and sauté the onions for 5-7 minutes until softened and translucent.
  • Step 3: Layer the Potatoes - Add the sliced potatoes on top of the onions in the skillet, ensuring even distribution.
  • Step 4: Add Garlic and Seasoning - Sprinkle minced garlic over the potatoes and season with salt and pepper.
  • Step 5: Add Liquid and Cook - Pour water or stock around the edges of the skillet, cover, and simmer on low heat for 20-25 minutes until tender.
  • Step 6: Serve and Enjoy - Plate the potatoes or transfer to a serving dish, garnish with fresh herbs if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

For a creamier dish, add a splash of heavy cream towards the end of cooking. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
