- 2 steaks ribeye Choose any thickness, bone-in or boneless
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil for searing
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt to enhance flavor
- ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper for heat and depth
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter cut into 2 pieces
Instructions
Start by removing the ribeye steaks from the refrigerator. Allow them to come to room temperature for about 30 minutes.
Pat the steaks dry with paper towels. Rub each steak with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, then season with salt and pepper.
Place your cast iron skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes until very hot.
