Equipment

  • Large Mixing Bowl
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Cutting board and knife
  • Can opener
  • Serving platter or bowls

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces tuna in water drained
  • ½ cup red onion chopped
  • ½ cup celery chopped
  • 1 cup pecans chopped
  • 1 tablespoon dill dried or 2 tablespoons fresh, chopped
  • ½ cup raisins
  • 2 tablespoons parsley fresh, chopped
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 medium tomatoes sliced for garnish
  • 1 teaspoon salt or to taste
  • ½ teaspoon pepper or to taste

Instructions

  • Begin by draining your tuna thoroughly to remove excess water. Place it in a large mixing bowl. Next, chop the red onion, celery, and pecans, and add them to the bowl.
  • Sprinkle in the dill, raisins, and parsley. These ingredients will infuse your salad with wonderful flavors and textures.
  • Add the mayonnaise to the bowl, and season with salt and pepper. Stir everything together gently, ensuring all ingredients are well combined without breaking up the tuna too much.
  • Taste your tuna salad and adjust the seasoning if necessary. You may want to add more salt or pepper to suit your preference.
  • Arrange the sliced tomatoes on a serving platter or individual bowls, and scoop your tuna salad on top. This adds a pop of color and freshness to your dish.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for freshness.
  • Consume within 3-4 days for best quality.
  • Consider adding tomatoes just before serving to keep them fresh.
