Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Loaf Pan
  • Saucepan
  • Wooden Spoon

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 60 grams Butter, room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Honey
  • 310 ml Fresh Milk
  • 470 grams All-purpose Flour
  • 1.5 teaspoons Instant Yeast
  • 2 tablespoons Flax Seed
  • 2 tablespoons Dried Thyme
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame Seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Extra-virgin Olive Oil

Instructions

  • Step 1: Prepare Your Ingredients - Gather all your ingredients and measure out your flour, salt, and seeds.
  • Step 2: Mix the Dough - In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, flax seeds, dried thyme, and sesame seeds. Stir well. In a separate bowl, melt the butter and mix in the honey. Warm the fresh milk until lukewarm and combine with the butter mixture.
  • Step 3: Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients - Make a well in the flour mixture and pour in the warm milk mixture. Sprinkle the instant yeast over the top and mix until a shaggy dough forms.
  • Step 4: Knead the Dough - Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Step 5: First Rise - Form the dough into a ball and place it in a greased bowl. Cover and let it rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  • Step 6: Shape the Loaf - Punch down the dough, shape it into a loaf, and pinch the seams to seal.
  • Step 7: Second Rise - Place the loaf in a greased pan, cover, and let it rise for about 30 minutes.
  • Step 8: Preheat the Oven - Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F).
  • Step 9: Bake the Bread - Bake the loaf for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
  • Step 10: Cool and Serve - Let the bread cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Slice and serve.

Notes

To ensure perfect results, use fresh yeast and don't rush the rising times. For a crustier loaf, place a baking dish with water in the oven while baking.
