Equipment

  • Blender

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe papaya peeled and seeded
  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup coconut milk canned for creamier results or carton for lighter smoothie
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon honey natural sweetener
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes

Instructions

Prepare the Papaya

  • Start by peeling your ripe papaya and removing all the seeds. Cut the fruit into chunks to make blending easier.

Blend Ingredients

  • Place the papaya chunks, banana, coconut milk, Greek yogurt, honey, and vanilla extract into your blender.
  • Blend on high for about 30-60 seconds or until the mixture is creamy and uniform. Pause and scrape down the sides as needed.
  • Add the ice cubes last and pulse a few times until the ice is crushed and well incorporated.

Final Touches

  • Taste and adjust sweetness if desired by adding more honey or a splash of coconut milk. Blend again briefly to mix.
  • Pour into tall glasses and serve immediately for best flavor and texture. Optionally garnish with papaya slice or toasted coconut flakes.

Notes

  • Use ripe papaya for best sweetness and flavor; unripe can be bitter or bland.
  • For a dairy-free version, substitute Greek yogurt with coconut yogurt and honey with maple syrup or agave nectar.
  • Store leftover smoothie in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 24 hours; shake well before drinking.
  • Experiment with seasonal additions like pineapple, mango, mint, or warming spices for variety.
  • Use frozen fruit in winter to keep smoothie cold without ice cubes.
